The Durango Business Improvement District (BID) and the Durango Chamber of Commerce have teamed up once again to bring back the Durango Rewards program to reward shoppers for shopping local! As the Chamber mascots Buck, Penny and Moola say, Look Local First!

The Durango Reward Program is proudly sponsored by Bank of Colorado and Morehart Murphy Regional Auto Center. This promotion will start on Friday, March 26 and runs until the rewards are all claimed. View the table below to see how many rewards remain. Rewards will be given to shoppers who spend $100 or more at Durango Chamber of Commerce and/or or Durango Business Improvement District member businesses in the following sectors - restaurants, retail, lodging, personal service and attractions.

Rewards are gift cards to local businesses, and the amounts increase the more the shopper spends. See the chart below for details.

 

How does it work?

Shop local at any retail, personal service, lodging, attraction or restaurant business that is a member of the Durango Chamber of Commerce or Durango Business Improvement District. See all eligible businesses HERE. Save your receipts and take a photo of each one. Once you have spent $100, or more, you can submit your receipts through the online form link located at the bottom of this page. You may use multiple receipts to reach the reward levels, but the minimum amount for any receipt is $30, and 10 receipts are the maximum that will be accepted.  See the chart below for the reward levels.

Rewards are limited! Rewards are given on a first-come first-served basis to those who submit their receipts through the online form. Submitting receipts through the form does NOT guarantee that you will receive a reward, as there are limited quantities. This page will be updated regularly with the number of rewards that remain at each level. Each receipt is reviewed to make sure it fits the guidelines. Please read all rules below carefully. Once all rewards are claimed, the program will conclude.

Rules:

  1. There are a limited number of rewards. Submitting receipts for a reward does not guarantee a reward will be given. Rewards are provided on a first-come, first-served basis.
  2. One entry per household. A household is considered anyone living in the same residence. Each entry must have full name and address.
  3. All purchases must be made on or after March 26. Receipts dated before March 26 are not eligible.
  4. Receipts must be submitted through the online form. Receipts cannot be mailed or accepted any other way.  If you have trouble with the form, please contact one of our team members for assistance.   5. Receipts can be from multiple stores to reach the spending levels. Each receipt must be at least $30. A maximum of 10 receipts will be accepted. Receipt photos should be of an actual hard copy receipt.  No Digital receipts! No invoices. 
  6. Before you submit your receipt, please circle the total and write your initials next to the total amount spent on receipt. (initials should match your first and last name in your submission) Receipts without initials WILL BE DECLINED! 
  7. Take pictures of each receipt separately. You may enter up to 10 pictures of 10 different receipts to reach the spending levels. Enter ALL receipts in one submission. Multiple submissions will not be combined. Once a submission has been made, changes or additions cannot be added. You may not trade out any invalid receipt. Please read all these rules to determine what is eligible prior to submitting a receipt. 
  8. Receipts must include the business name and purchase date printed on the receipt. If date and business name are not clear in the submission, we have the right to decline your submission. Handwritten names or dates will not be accepted. Receipts must be clear and easy to read. When submitting receipts through the online form, enter the exact value of the receipt. Do not round up or down, and include the cents.
  9. Eligible receipts include purchases from Chamber and/or BID members in these sectors - restaurants, retail stores, lodging, personal services and attractions. See full list of eligible businesses here.  
  10. Ineligible receipts include grocery stores, gas stations, convenience stores, drug stores, liquor stores, marijuana, services (classes, event services, health services, pharmacy, child youth services, wedding service, nonprofit, childcare, classes, auto mechanics, auto repair or service, real estate transactions, insurance, health care, vet or pet care, professional services.) Any business that is not a BID or Chamber Member is also ineligible.
  11. BID/Chamber have the right to decline any receipt that does not fit with in the requirements. 
  12. A receipt can only be submitted once by one shopper. Violating this rule will automatically make both shoppers ineligible for rewards.
  13. Shoppers will be able to choose their reward from a list of business based on the rewards level. Rewards will be mailed to the address entered on the online form AFTER the promotion ends and all rewards are claimed. Rewards cannot be split between multiple businesses. 
  14. Reward gift cards/certificates will be mailed to the address submitted on the online form. Address cannot be changed after your form has been submitted. Make sure your address is correct on the form.  
  15. Rewards are in the form of gift cards/certificates. Gift cards cannot be traded for cash. No cash rewards will be given. Rewards will only be given from the list of businesses included in the program.
  16. Must be 18 or over to participate.
  17. Each reward level has a participation limit. Once that limit is met, we will no longer accept receipts for that level.
  18. BID and the Chamber have the right to decline any entry that does not fit within the guidelines. BID will inform the shopper by email the reason their submission was declined.
  19. When all rewards are claimed, we will email all participants to confirm that their submission was accepted and provide a date of when your reward will be mailed out.
  20. BID and the Chamber are not responsible for any lost gift cards/certificates.

Can I submit multiple receipts from different merchants?

Yes. You may submit up to 10 receipts to reach a reward level. All receipts must be from businesses that are members of the Chamber and/or the BID- (See full List here) and are in the following sectors – retail, personal services, accommodations, attractions, or restaurants

 

What is the minimum amount for the receipt for it to be accepted?

Each receipt must be at least $30.

 

How many receipts can I submit to reach a reward level?

The maximum number of receipts allowed is 10.

 

How many times can I apply for rewards?

What do I need to do before I submit my form?

Verify that the business fits within the guidelines. Circle the total spent, add your initials, then take a picture of each receipt separately. You are now ready to submit your receipts. Remember to submit receipts all together to reach the highest tier level.

 

How will I know when my reward was accepted?

Each submission will be reviewed to ensure that it fits the guidelines. Once all the rewards have been claimed, a communication will be sent via email stating that your submission was accepted.  The rewards will only be mailed to the address provided in the form. 

 

What businesses can I choose for my reward?

A list of businesses for rewards will be provided when submitting receipts through the online form, and is on this webpage. All rewards are in the form of gift cards from local merchants. You can only select one merchant to receive your reward. The gift cards cannot be split between multiple businesses. Once you choose a business, you cannot change your selection after it has been submitted. 

 

If I purchase a gift card, will that count towards my reward?

Yes, any purchase at a Chamber or BID member business that is a retail store, personal services, accommodation, attraction or a restaurant, and is NOT on the ineligible list, counts towards your rewards.

Can I make multiple purchase from different stores to reach one of the levels?

Yes! Receipts can be from multiple stores to reach the spending levels. Each receipt must be at least $30. A maximum of 10 receipts will be accepted. Receipt photos should be of an actual hard copy receipt.  No Digital receipts! No invoices. All receipts must be submitted through the same form. Just click the Add receipt button to add an additional receipt. 

Can I purchase something online at a local merchant?

Yes, so long as the business is a member of the Chamber or BID and fits the guidelines.  Remember that digital receipt or invoices cannot be accepted, you need to request a hard copy receipt to submit that purchase.

 

When does the Rewards Program start and end?

This program will be start on Friday March 26. The program ends when all rewards are claimed.
