4th of July

4th of July in Downtown Durango!

Durango is a great place to celebrate the 4th of July! We have created a full day of activites for everyone to enjoy. Start the day with a pancake breakfast and fun run, then listen to free concert with a full orchestra. Next go to the Indepence Day Party, then watch the parade, dance to the sounds of the High Rollers, then watch the fireworks. Complete schedule is below.

ROTARY PARK EVENTS

7:30 to 11:30 am - All-American Pancake Breakfast by the Rotary Club of Durango

Menu: Pancakes, Scrambled Eggs, Orange Juice, Coffee and more! Breakfast bar available at additional cost.

Cost: adults = $12; children 5 to 12 = $7; children under 5 = free!

 

9 am - Freedom 5K by Durango  Parks and Recreation, at Rotary Park

Free 5K run/walk along the beautiful Animas River Trail, all ages welcome, register from 8:15 to 8:45.

 

9:15 to 10:45 am - Free Concert In the Park

Featuring Southwest Civic Winds and Fort Lewis College American Voices. A full sized concert band will perform and exciting program of patriotic music. Between sets there will be readings of historical documents on what it means to be an American patriot.

 

BUCKLEY PARK EVENTS

Noon to 4:30 pm - Independence Day Party

Food available for purchase from Durango Elks Club. Music by Devon Scott Ukelele Band from noon to 2 pm, then Pete Giuliani Band from 2:30 to 4:30 pm. Kid's activities and family fun throughout the day. Beer from Ska and Steamworks! All procees benefit Building Homes for Heroes.

 

PARADE

6 to 6:45 pm - Stars and Stripes Parade on Main Avenue

from College to 12th Street

 

DANCE

7 to 9:15 pm - Independence Day Dance at Transit Center, located at 8th Street and Camino del Rio

Featuring the always popular High Rollers, a beer garden featuring Ska Brewery, food and kids activities. Bring your dancin' shoes!

 

FIREWORKS

9:15 pm -  Fireworks Show by City of Durango and Durango Fire Protection District

Fireworks will start at APPROXIMATELY 9:15 pm. Just look west from any cross street in Downtown.
