Background and History of Durango BMX

The Durango BMX track and program have been up and running for nearly 15years, organized through the City of Durango.  The BMX program has been growing steadily for the last two years, and we're fortunate that the track remains open daily to the community. Racing is held each friday night for all ages at the track, from ages 2-70. They also host a strider race for those children just learning to push their bikes around the track.

Last year, the Board of Directors established a goal to earn the privilege of hosting the State Championship Race.  To attain this goal, our BMX  was required to score the most track points in the state.   Last year, 2019, we achieved this goal for the first time in the history of Durango BMX.  Thus, for the first time, we will host the Colorado State Championship BMX race, attracting  more than 300 racers throughout state.
