BID is pleased to announce our new shop local campaigns for 2017. This campaign includes three components: Sidewalk Sale promotions, local gift guide and a shop local display at the Durango Welcome Center. We have include information about each component below and have provided information on how you can participate. This campaign is part of BID’s Marketing efforts for 2017 and is a free service for any business in the district. In 2017 we will have 33 days of sidewalk vending days. During this time merchants will be allowed to place merchandise out on the sidewalk. The dates for the Sidewalk vending days are available HERE.
BID will be offering additional marketing efforts over 4 sidewalk sale weekends. Marketing for these weekends will include: Social Media posts, radio Ads, and a flyer at the welcome center and more. Special Marketing and Promotion for Sidewalk Sales:
· Feature page on our website—This will include a list of all the participating Businesses, website link to your business and the type of sale you are offering that weekend.
· Media - Radio Ads, Chamber Ad, BID e-news letter, event listing on our calendar.
· Marketing on Social Media Ad on Facebook with a link to our website. Mention on other social networks like twitter and Instagram. We will link your business to our posts and hope you will share them with your own social network.
Throughout the year we will produce a local gift guide for various holidays. We will feature unique local items on a feature page on our website with photographs and a discription of the item. Interested merchants can submit up to 3 photographs and a description of each item. Campaign dates and deadlines are listed below. Please read guidelines before submitting your photographs. From the submissions that we receive BID staff will pick the best items that fit with the theme of the promotion.

Guidelines for submitting photographs:
BID will promote five shop local campaigns with a display in the center window at the Durango Welcome Center (DWC). For each display we are looking for 4-6 merchants to display items in the window to make a unique display to promote local shopping in Downtown Durango. Participating merchants will receive a sign with their business name and address by their merchandise. The DWC receives over 1000,000 guests annually (and many more walk by this window) making this a terrific opportunity to capture the attention of many guests that are visiting the area as well as locals. If you are interested in participating please review the application. From the applications we receive for each display, BID staff will choose a variety of business that will best fit the theme of the display. A maximum of 6 merchants will be chosen for each display.
